Brought to you live on BIRN2, BT will be performing in the Berklee Performance Center at 8:15PM on February 14th, 2012. Don't miss your chance to hear an exciting performance from this internationally renowned recording artist.
Transeau is a platinum selling musician as well as an accomplished film composer for movies such as The Fast and the Furious, Go, Stealth and Oscar-award winning Monster. A talented DJ, Transeau weaves together the acoustic and the electronic to form compositions that resonate with listeners of all types without seeming academic and incomprehensible. Peter Gabriel had this to say to the LA Times, "BT mounts mesmerizing journeys with his compositions. He is not only a virtuoso programmer, but an extremely gifted musician."
Cirkestra
Cirkestra is a five-piece musical troupe from Boston that is about as far from garden variety as Boston gets. The group's leader is Peter Bufano, who first ran away with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus at the age of 17. He is known for musical contributions to a number of other circuses around the world. The group's eastern European–influenced instrumentals are now heard in films and on TV everywhere. On March 15, 2011, Cirkestra composed and recorded their fifth release, The Hairless Woman, in 22 hours while the world watched on streaming internet.
Cirkestra has been called, "Musical acrobats," by Jon Garelick of the Boston Phoenix as well as, "Perhaps the most unusual musical group in Boston," by Brett Milano of B.U. Today. Be sure to tune in to BIRN Presents at 8:00PM on February 17, 2012 for our live broadcast from the Red Room @ Cafe 939.
