When its still raining in your heart.

Voices Carry will give you a tissue.

So I’m havin another upbeat show that attempts to keep you motivated. Lots of cool stuff happening in the world of A Cappella (two p’s please) and for Voices Carry too!! I got some submissions from an awesome collegiate group called OUtSpoken! They are from my home state so I’m kinda biased but they are pretty awesome regardless. Also some favorites of mine being played again along with two songs from an award winning group Syncopation.

2007-06-pic01.jpg It did stop raining in Boston (for now) but I have a cold so it kinda feels like its still raining. Tune in today (Sunday) from 4-6 EST to get some ideas how to keep your head above the waterline.

Fiddle of the Month Club

Listen to Fiddle Feile on BIRN1 today from 2-4pm to learn about how to be a member of the illustrious Fiddle of the Month Club. Members will receive a new fiddle every month along with a new cd and a basket of cheese. Other benefits include random drunken visits from fiddlers of your choice at 4am who will raid your fridge and steal all the cheese back for us to send to the other members.

Saturday’s Syrum on Annabelle’s Doombox 9-11 pm

Goodbye sober day
Hello milky way…

May your sun be blown out just like a candle
May your sea burn like tar
May your sky be rolled up like a scroll
May your blue moon drip with blood

This Is Now: Matt’s Sweet Edition!

Hey all, Matt O’Donnell here. While keeping with Mikhail’s format of dicussing an album, I’ll be switching up the genre considerably to talk about the latest release from Chris Thile’s post-Nickel Creek band, Punch Brothers. The record is called Punch.

I’ll be playing a while bunch of the album, along with some discussion and EXCLUSIVE interview clips culled from the band’s clinic here at Berklee back in April.

So tune in to THIS IS NOW from 6-7 PM!!!!!

Olympic Goodness on Wanderlust today from 2-4!

Who is psyched for the Olympics?! me! pick me! A perfect day to have a world music show, don’t you think?! I decided to play some olympic theme songs today as well as some sport related jems that have been written for or remixed for other past world sporting events like FIFA.  Basically, a mish mash of world dance tunes and some chinese music to represent the politically charged games that open today.  So, if you’re a long distance runner, hurdler, polo-ist (that is definitely not a word) or just a chillaxin champ, hope these tunes get you in gear for the opening ceremonies tonight in Beijing! Xie Xie (thank you in Mandarin!).

The A Train

Another show. Listen in. Jazz. 11pm - 1am. Thursday night. Let’s do it.

Moonshadow Moonshadow

BLSARSWAA: Khail’s Sweet Edition

Mikhail takes over Brendan’s show from 4 to 6.  What does that mean to you?  I will play slightly out there music (Brendan) along with my taste for things metallic.  Therefore you get Atmospheric Funeral Doom.

Tonight’s Featured Artist:

ESOTERIC

Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale

The Maniacal Vale is a slow brooding beast of an album.  Two discs of snails with guitars.  Dig it! and prepare…

remember the old days

Times were different then, we were so free.
