Fiddle Feile is Finally in Full Function

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

This is the first time in about 2 months that Phil and I are on the show together! Woo! This week I have a nice sweet and salty blend of Irish and Scottish music old and new with a slight nutty taste of Cape Breton fiddle thrown in. Enjoy!

Fiddle Feile Frenzy! 2-4pm

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Join me in a musical exploratory adventure of Scottish music old and new (sprinkled with the occasional Cape Breton tune). We’re talking Alasdair Fraser, Hanneke Cassel, Croft No. 5, Session A9, Shona Mooney, Kris Drever, Beolach, Silly Wizard…Don’t know who any of these blokes are? An even greater reason to join me on this fiddling escapade…

P.S. I admit this picture has nothing to do with anything..but come on

Oh and for the ever curious:
festival = n (REL) féile (gaelic)

…Hey Diddle diddle the Cat and zee Fiddle…

Oh my god, there’s a Julie in the studio and she has a fiddle. And I have a fiddle. And we have fiddles. And Fiddle music will be played. And there will be fire juggling. Yes indeed. ALSO, I have a brand new live album from LAU. It will be awesome. Just you wait and see. So tune in at 2 and listen to awesome fiddle music!

A Fantastic Fiddle Feile for Father’s Day

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

It’s going to be an interesting show today. I’ve decided that the first hour of the show will be nothing but Hanneke Cassel. The second half of the show will include an amusing collection of Liz Carroll, Jerry Holland and a generous helping of a band called JPP that might be new to a few listeners. And of course, there will be live fiddle music. I’ve decreed it and so it shall transpire.

Tune in from 2-4pm and celebrate Father’s Day with two hours of most excellent tuneage.

Fiddle music… on MY RADIO NETWORK?

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

That’s right, today from 2-4pm Fiddle Feile is back to share with you another two hours of all things celtic and/or fiddlish. I bought a new Flook album, along with some tracks by a group called Grada. Tune in or suffer the thought that you will have missed another awesome Fiddle Feile.

And nobody wants that.

AUDREY AND PHIL RULE!! (the birn for the next two hours or so)

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Thought you could get rid of us that easily? Just because school is over with doesn’t mean we are. That’s right: FIDDLE FEILE is here for the longterm. Today is nothing by Irish goodness with the occasional Scottish reel or so to spice things up. And Yes: there will be diddling.

A Singin’ and A Fiddlin’

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

So when I woke up this morning-I was inspired: I want to sing today. Unfortunatley, I can’t. So, instead of torturing you with the lack of vocal abilities, I will intice you with great recordings of celtic diddling and gaelic whatnot. Sit back and relax as I mesmerize you with a great mixture of old and new gaelic singing with the fiddle not far behind. Slainte!
