Today on The Brosh Pit: guitarist Scott Tarulli in the studio!

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Tune in at 2 PM today for a very special edition of The Brosh Pit - I am very excited to have one of my favorite fusion players with me, Scott Tarulli. Scott is a great composer for his own project, and does session work for many other musicians. He is also one of our own great guitar faculty. Today I will be picking his brain for all those things he knows best - improv, tone, composition, his current projects, and everything else guitar. Oh, and we’ll probably also play some music…

Berklee Guitar Heroes! Tomorrow on The Brosh Pit!

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Listen this Sunday, the 14th, for a very special edition of The Brosh Pit! Guesting this week are two of Berklee’s most popular guitar heroes, and personal idols of mine - Jon Finn and Don Lappin. Both Jon and Don are playing with a student band at the benefit concert for Justin Graceffa. Justin is a 5th semester student that suffered a fall over the summer that left him paralyzed. A fundraiser concert will be held this Wednesday, the 17th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Melrose.

In honor of the concert, I will be playing Jon Finn and Don Lappin tunes, and the three of us will be chatting about their upcoming gigs, current projects, gear, techniques, and everything else guitar. TUNE IN TOMORROW FROM 2-4!!

Tomorrow on The Brosh Pit - Pink Floyd, The Wall

Monday, August 13th, 2007

pink_floydwall-front.jpg I have decided to dedicate my last show of the semester to the classic work of musical art - Pink Floyd’s The Wall. Due to the fact that this is a holy concept album that I dare not disturb, both discs will be played without an interruption of spoken word. This album is about 80 minutes in length, so I will take some time after to talk about the band and the album, as well as play my usual rock programming. Tune in tomorrow from 4-6!

Celebrating Andy Timmons! Tuesday, 4-6 on The Brosh Pit

Monday, August 6th, 2007

andytimmons1.jpgAny Berklee guitarist has surely heard of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Yet I have encountered very few who are familiar with one of the best and most underrated guitarists of the genre: Andy Timmons. Due to this phenomenon, I have decided to dedicate this week’s show to Andy’s solo work, as well as his work with Olivia Newton-John and the ’80s glam band Danger Danger. Tune in tomorrow from 4-6 to learn more about this fantastic, versatile guitarist! Go! Get educated!

The Police

Tune in today from 4 to 6 pm for an exciting play-by-play review on The Police at Fenway Park this past weekend, as I can happily say I lived to tell the tale. And as always, a guarantee on some Berklee-made fusion, cheesy metal, and a few old school ’80s pop hits that even the youngins will know!
