Ingrid Andress plays Cafe 939
December 2 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST
Tune into birnCORE on Monday, December 2 at 8PM for a live broadcast from the Red Room @ Cafe 939 featuring Nashville-based singer/songwriter Ingrid Andress.
Andress chips away at expectations of herself and her sound, writing soulful pop songs that touch upon country and R&B. Her deeply personal debut single, “More Hearts Than Mine,” was chosen to be her first official country radio single and was named the “elegantly written song about a love that lets you down” by the New York Times as one of their nine “most notable new songs” the week it was released. Before building her off-stage reputation and honing her writing skills collaborating with artists such as Alicia Keys, Sam Hunt, and Charli XCX, she first started gaining attention in 2010 on NBC’s The Sing-Off. The Colorado native made her first national television appearance earlier this year on Late Night with Seth Meyers, performing her new major-label debut “Lady Like.” She has received critical acclaim from People, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Vulture.
As a music fan, she’s the kind of artist that doesn’t care about conforming to a genre, her main goal is to make music that resonates with her. “I feel the same way about music as I do about being a person, which is basically that you can listen to whatever music you want and not have to follow any guidelines, as long as it’s authentic.” With the release of her latest tracks “Both” and “We’re Not Friends,” Andress stands by this with moving vocals that are thrillingly honest, raw, and refreshing in a way that is hard to come by.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m. EDT and you can stream it here.
